We proposed a novel isometry invariant shape descriptor,  based on area-preserving mapping, for brain morphometry analysis to help assess Alzheimer’s Disease influence on cortical surface.  Our method out-performs the Spherical Harmonic, weighted Spherical Harmonic, and Freesurfer thickness based methods on a dataset with 

 beta-amyloid plaques confirmed subjects.
